# Remove Imprint

Remove from Mind, without waiting on the imprint's own extraction (TOS-4353).

``ImprintService.remove`` re-projects synchronously and takes the imprint
chat's extraction advisory lock to do it. That lock is held for the whole
of a Mind extraction, and an extraction is exactly what is running moments
after a teach, so the synchronous path made this request wait until
``lock_timeout`` and fail (the TOS-4156 shape). The nonblocking variant
tombstones in this transaction only when the lock is free and always
enqueues a durable DELETED reconcile job; the wake below asks the isolated
reconcile worker to drain it now rather than on its hourly schedule.
