# List Impersonation Targets

`GET /api/impersonation/targets`

Identities the caller may act as, searchable and paged.

``per_kind=N`` returns at most N rows of each kind (the menu's first view of
a large estate: names to pick from, plus counts for "View all"); ``recent``
returns the identities this caller most recently acted as, newest first
(TOS-7987). Neither pages: ``next_cursor`` is always null for them.

Only actable rows are returned, so the client never has to gate a row it
was handed. ``allow_read_only=True`` matches ``POST /start``: opening a
session performs no action as the target, and every request the session
then makes is re-gated per method by ``get_identity``.
