# Delete Document

`DELETE /api/folders/documents/{document_id}`

Soft-delete a document into the recycle bin (TOS-1488).

Personal docs (library_id IS NULL): only the owner may delete.
Shared docs: caller needs edit+ on the doc's folder. Segments stay
attached to the document row until it is purged (``POST .../purge``,
admin rung). Restore via ``POST .../restore`` (edit+ rung).
