# Delete Folder

`DELETE /api/folders/{domain_ref}`

Move a folder and everything in it into the recycle bin (TOS-3390).

Bins the folder, every folder under it, and every object in them
(documents, connections, connectors, databases, web sources, syncs,
provider keys, environments, skills that live only here). A skill also
placed in another folder loses only its placement here; a shortcut
elsewhere pointing at something in the tree is removed. All of it comes
back with ``POST .../restore``, and nothing binned by an earlier, separate
delete does. Refused with a 409 listing ``blockers`` when something outside
the tree depends on something inside it, for example an agent whose home
folder is here. Run ``folder_delete_plan`` first to see exactly what will happen.

Authority: a platform admin, a folder admin, or an owner/admin of the
organization that owns the folder (TOS-7159). Idempotent on a binned folder.
