# Open Self Chat

`POST /api/chats/self`

Open the caller's Subconscious — their single persistent self-chat.

Idempotent front door (TOS-424): returns the existing self-chat if one
exists, otherwise creates it. The Subconscious is one destination per
identity, never a fresh chat per visit. No connection gate — the caller
is the only participant and the responder is their own Mind.
