# Identify the calling credential

`GET /me`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://thesignup.app/api/v1`
- URL: `https://thesignup.app/api/v1/me`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns the organization owning this API key, the underlying user, and the granted scopes. Cheap probe — useful for verifying a key is valid before issuing real work.

## Response `200`

Successfully identified the credential

- MeResponse
  - `organization` OrganizationSummary, required
    - `id` string, required
    - `name` string, required
    - `slug` string, required
  - `user` object, nullable, required: The user behind the credential. Today every organization is 1:1 with a personal user; multi-user orgs will return null when the credential isn't tied to a specific human.
    - `id` string, required
    - `name` string, required
    - `email` string, email, required
  - `scopes` string[], required: Scopes granted to this credential. Empty array = full owner-equivalent (the default until the OAuth scope model lights up).

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthenticated — credentials missing, malformed, invalid, or revoked
- `429`: Rate limited or daily ceiling exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
