# Send Generic Email

`POST /api/send-email`

## Request

Send a candidate-facing email (screening invite, status update, etc.).

Routes through `_send()` so the Resend / FastMail switch, Reply-To,
List-Unsubscribe header, and the new `interview@` From address all
apply uniformly with the rest of the email surface.

## Request body

- GenericEmailRequest: Request model for sending generic emails (screening invites, etc.). The Next.js side renders both `html_content` and `text_content` via `lib/email-templates.ts`. Historic bug: this endpoint accepted `text_content` but only shipped HTML, leaving every candidate email HTML-only — a known spam-filter penalty. Now passed through.
