# List skill assessments

`GET /api/public/v1/skills`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.thebetterhire.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.thebetterhire.ai/api/public/v1/skills`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Every skill assessment a brain interview can run as a skill round. Pass a `skill_id` to POST /interviews/schedule/brain. The catalog is global, not per organization, and identical for sandbox keys.

Rate limit: 200 requests/hour per API key.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- SkillListResponse
  - `skills` Skill[], required
    - `skill_id` string, required: Pass as `skill_id` when scheduling.
    - `display_name` string, required
    - `also_known_as` string[]: Industry titles for the SAME assessment (e.g. 'DevOps' for site_reliability). Match on these when mapping your own role titles; never schedule two of them for one candidate.
    - `rubric` SkillRubricDimension[], required: What the round is scored on, in catalog order.
      - `name` string, required
      - `weight` integer, required: 3 = a core dimension that carries the verdict; 2 = supporting.
    - `stage_count` integer, required
    - `requires_code_editor` boolean, required: The round opens a code editor: the candidate needs a desktop browser, not a phone.
    - `suitable_for_entry` boolean: Offered to entry-level roles (interns, graduates, first jobs). An entry role's `inferred.skill_ids` only suggests these. Any skill booked on an entry role runs calibrated to entry level; an unmarked one returns a warning.
