# Delete an owned file

`DELETE /api-platform/files/{file_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.textcortex.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.textcortex.com/v1/api-platform/files/{file_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Delete one uploaded file owned by the current API key user.

Uses the current API key's permissions. Check `GET /capabilities` for availability. Deletes the owned file and its associated KB insertions; this is not a detach-from-one-KB operation.

- `file_id` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Access denied
- `404`: Resource not found
- `422`: Request validation failed
