# Set default storage backend

`PUT /storage-backends/{id}/default`

Mark a storage backend as the workspace default. Only an active backend can become the default. New knowledge bases without an explicit binding use the default.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

Default set successfully

- `400` — Backend is not active
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `404` — Storage backend not found
