# Release a shared user sandbox

`POST /sandbox-configs/{id}/user-sandboxes/{digest}/release`

## Request

- Base URL: `/api/v1` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/api/v1/sandbox-configs/{id}/user-sandboxes/{digest}/release`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `Authorization`
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Delete one shared user machine now; each session gets a fresh machine on next use. Refused while busy.

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `409`: User sandbox is busy
