# Patch Asset

`PATCH /asset/{asset_id}`

Partial update of an asset (SSE): rename, move, description, authors and/or source_url. At least one field required. WRITE on asset (and on destination if moving).

## Request body

- AssetPatchRequest: Partial update: provide at least one. name: rename; destination_id: move; description: the asset's own text; authors and source_url: who made the media and where it came from.
  - `name` string, nullable
  - `destination_id` string, nullable: Folder to move the asset into. The library root has no asset row: use the nil UUID 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 to move to the root.
  - `description` string, nullable
  - `authors` string[], nullable: Who made the media, as credited. Replaces the whole list; pass [] to clear it. Blank names are dropped.
  - `source_url` string, nullable: Page the media came from (e.g. its Pexels page). An http(s) URL; pass "" to clear it.
