# Write a story's summary and bullets, or correct its headline

`PUT /v1/admin/updates/story`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://api.technooptimist.io`
- URL: `http://api.technooptimist.io/v1/admin/updates/story`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Replaces the summary (2–4 sentences) and bullets (2–5 key facts) of one update, by `id` or `externalKey`, and/or its `headline` (8–160 chars). Send `summary` and `points` together, or `headline` alone. Write from the original source; it is what readers see instead of the source.

- `x-routine-name` string: Name of the routine making the write; recorded as `routine:<name>` in the audit log.
