# Add an RCS agent test device

`POST /rcs/agents/{id}/test_devices`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.telnyx.com/v2`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Adds an RCS-capable test number after provider agent creation. Repeating the request for a number already attached to the agent returns the existing test device.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- TestDeviceCreateRequest
  - `phone_number` string, required

## Response `201`

The test device was added or already existed.

- TestDeviceResponse
  - `test_device_id` string, uuid, required
  - `phone_number` string, required
  - `invite_status` 'PENDING' | 'ACCEPTED' | 'DECLINED', required

## Other responses

- `401`: The request is not authenticated.
- `404`: The resource does not exist, is not owned by the organization, or the provider does not support the requested capability.
- `409`: The operation is not allowed in the current lifecycle state or the idempotency key was used for a different request.
- `422`: The request body or parameters failed validation.
- `502`: The RCS provider rejected or could not complete the request.
