# Verify ownership of phone numbers

`POST /phone_numbers/actions/verify_ownership`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.telnyx.com/v2`
- URL: `https://api.telnyx.com/v2/phone_numbers/actions/verify_ownership`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Verifies ownership of the provided phone numbers and returns a mapping of numbers to their IDs, plus a list of numbers not found in the account.

## Request body

- PhoneNumberVerifyOwnershipRequest
  - `phone_numbers` string[], required: Array of phone numbers to verify ownership for

## Response `200`

Phone number ownership verification completed.

    - `found` object[]: The list of phone numbers which you own and are in an editable state
      - `number_val_e164` string: The phone number in E.164 format
      - `id` string: Identifies the resource.
    - `not_found` string[]: Phone numbers that are not found in the account
    - `record_type` string: Identifies the type of the resource.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request, the request was unacceptable, often due to missing a required parameter.
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: The requested resource doesn't exist.
- `422`: Unprocessable entity. Check the 'detail' field in response for details.
- `500`: Unexpected error
