# Get a single recipient's delivery state

`GET /email_messages/{email_id}/recipients/{recipient_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.telnyx.com/v2`
- URL: `https://api.telnyx.com/v2/email_messages/{email_id}/recipients/{recipient_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns the current delivery state of a single recipient, including status,
billable flag, SMTP detail, and lifecycle timestamps.
BCC recipient addresses are redacted (returned as null).

## Response `200`

Recipient delivery state.

    - `record_type` 'email_recipient', required
    - `id` string, uuid, required: Recipient UUID.
    - `message_id` string, uuid, required: Parent email message UUID.
    - `address` string, email, nullable, required: Recipient email address. Null for BCC recipients (redacted for privacy).
    - `kind` 'to' | 'cc' | 'bcc', required
    - `status` 'queued' | 'sending' | 'sent' | 'deferred' | 'delivered' | 'bounced' | 'failed' | 'gw_reject' | 'cancelled' | 'injection_timeout' | 'expired', required: Current per-recipient delivery status.
    - `billable` boolean, required: Whether this recipient's delivery is billable (set on queue acceptance).
    - `sent_at` string, date-time, nullable
    - `delivered_at` string, date-time, nullable
    - `failed_at` string, date-time, nullable
    - `smtp_code` integer, nullable: SMTP response code when available (e.g. 550 for bounces).
    - `smtp_response` string, nullable: SMTP response message when available.

## Other responses

- `401`: Not authorized (10006).
- `404`: Resource not found (10001).
