# Delete a key

`DELETE /storage/kvs/{id}/keys/{key}`

Deletes a key. Idempotent: deleting a key that does not exist still succeeds. The namespace itself must exist and be provisioned.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required
- `key` string, required

## Response `200`

Key deleted (returned even if the key did not exist)

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad request — invalid `id` or key name
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `404` — KV namespace not found (a missing key is not an error)
- `409` — Conflict — the namespace is not ready (`status` is not `provision_ok`)
- `500` — Internal server error
