# Delete Voice

`DELETE /v2/voices/{voice_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://tavusapi.com`
- URL: `https://tavusapi.com/v2/voices/{voice_id}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Deletes a voice.

A voice still referenced by a PAL or a face is **not** deleted: the request returns `409` with a `used_by` count of each, so you can repoint them and retry. A face's `original_voice_id` cannot be deleted at all, since it is the id a face reverts to.

- `voice_id` string, required

## Response `204`

NO CONTENT

## Other responses

- `401`: UNAUTHORIZED
- `404`: NOT FOUND
- `409`: CONFLICT: the voice is still in use, or is a face's original voice.
