# Runtime Check Connector

`POST /v2/connectors/{connector_id}/runtime_check`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://tavusapi.com`
- URL: `https://tavusapi.com/v2/connectors/{connector_id}/runtime_check`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Check that a call can reach the server. A call reaches it differently from [Preview Connector Tools](/api-reference/connectors/preview-connector-tools), so a server can pass preview and still fail in a call. This lists the server's tools the way a call does. It never calls a tool.

A failure on the server's side is still a `200`, with `ok: false` and the error. Limited to 10 checks per minute per account.

## Response `200`

The check ran. `ok` says whether the server's tools could be listed.

- object
  - `ok` boolean: `true` when the server's tools were listed. A conversation can reach this server.
  - `tool_count` integer: How many tools were listed. `0` when `ok` is `false`.
  - `tool_names` string[]: The names of the tools that were listed.
  - `latency_ms` integer: How long the check took, in milliseconds.
  - `error` object, nullable: `null` when `ok` is `true`.
    - `http_status` integer, nullable: The status of the step that failed: the listing's status (usually `424` when your server could not be reached), or the token endpoint's status when a client-credentials token request failed. `null` when no status applies.
    - `message` string: The raw error text, up to 500 characters.

## Other responses

- `404`: Connector not found
- `409`: OAuth is not finished for this connector.
- `429`: More than 10 checks in a minute, or another check is still running. Try again in a few seconds.
- `503`: The check is not available on this deployment.
