# Get supported alert chains

`GET /v4/subscription/chains`

## Request

/v4/subscription/chains

**Free**

Returns the blockchains on which alerts can be created, the alert types available on each, and which optional create fields each chain supports. Use this endpoint to build chain and alert-type pickers dynamically instead of hardcoding them.

The response is the same for every API key — it is not filtered by mainnet/testnet or by plan. Use the `testnet` flag on each entry to separate environments.

Either `chain` (for example `ethereum-mainnet`) or `currency` (for example `ETH`) may be sent as `attr.chain` when creating an alert.

OK

- SupportedAlertChains
  - `chains` SupportedAlertChain[], required: Chains alert creation accepts, sorted by chain slug.
    - `chain` string, required: Chain identifier accepted in attr.chain.
    - `currency` string, required: Legacy currency code, also accepted in attr.chain.
    - `testnet` boolean, required: Whether this chain is a test network.
    - `types` SubscriptionType[], required: Alert types that can be created on this chain.
    - `mempool` boolean, required: Whether the mempool flag is accepted on this chain.
    - `finality` boolean, required: Whether the finality field, attr.conditions and templateId are accepted on this chain. Create accepts all three or none.
  - `chainAgnosticTypes` SubscriptionType[], required: Alert types that are created without a chain.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized. Not valid or inactive subscription key present in the HTTP Header.
- `500`: Internal server error. There was an error on the server during the processing of the request.
