# Cancel A Running Backtest

`POST /backtests/{id}/cancel`

## Request

Stops a `pending` or `running` backtest early. Returns `204 No Content` on success. Useful for aborting a long run you no longer need.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `204`

The backtest was cancelled. No response body is returned.

## Other responses

- `400`: Request included malformed input
- `401`: Unauthorized.
- `404`: Backtest not found
- `429`: Request rate exceeded reasonable thresholds. Back off exponentially before retrying.
