# Fetch back a paid call's response

`GET /v1/calls/{request_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.taskfuel.ai`
- URL: `https://app.taskfuel.ai/v1/calls/{request_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns the stored response for a call already paid for, with the upstream's own status, content type and body, so it parses like the POST /v1/call response it replaces. It carries x-taskfuel-cost for what the original call cost, but no x-taskfuel-balance, since nothing is charged here. Free: the call is already paid for, and charging to collect it would reproduce the problem this solves. Use it instead of repeating a call that timed out.

## Path parameters

- `request_id` string, required

## Response `200`

The stored upstream response. Other successful upstream status codes are mirrored the same way.

- unknown

## Other responses

- `202`: The call is still running: the upstream has not answered, so nothing has been charged and there is no body yet. The in-flight metadata is returned alongside. Ask again rather than repeating the call.
- `401`: The bearer API key is missing or invalid.
- `404`: No stored result for that request id: it expired, the call was never charged, or it belongs to another account.
- `410`: The call was charged, but its body was too large to store. The metadata is returned alongside the error.
