# Set a custom field's value on a task

`POST /setTaskFieldValue`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.taskade.com/api/v2`

Select fields take the option ID (not its label) - read them from `listFields`.

  - `projectId` string, required: The project the task lives in
  - `taskId` string, required: The task ID (from `listTasks`)
  - `fieldId` string, required: Custom field ID (from `listFields`)
  - `value` union, required: Number for number fields; option ID for Select fields; text for string fields
