# Assign users to a task

`POST /assignTask`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.taskade.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://www.taskade.com/api/v2/assignTask`
- Auth: OAuth 2 and HTTP bearer
  - Authorization code: `https://www.taskade.com/oauth2/authorize`
  - Token URL: `https://www.taskade.com/oauth2/token`

Additive: handles already assigned are left as-is and nobody is unassigned. Every handle must belong to a project or workspace member.

## Request body

  - `projectId` string, required: The project the task lives in
  - `taskId` string, required: The task ID (from `listTasks`)
  - `handles` string[], required: User handles to assign
