# Per-day observation status

`GET /v1/stocks/{symbol}/observation-status`

For every calendar day in the lookback window, oldest first, why a price is or is not present: `traded`, `weekend`, `holiday`, `pre_listing`, `delisted` or `no_print`. Use it before computing returns over a series with gaps. A `no_print` day is a listed trading day with no price bar: treat it as not-a-return (carry forward or mask), never as 0%. `meta.status_counts` tallies the window; `meta.codes` defines each status and `meta.classification_limits` states what the labels cannot tell apart (`no_print` does not separate an illiquid no-trade from a suspension or missing data; `pre_listing` needs a known listing date). `traded` counts every price bar held, including bars `/v1/stocks/{symbol}/prices/daily` withholds as unverified, so that route can return fewer rows.

- `401`: Missing or invalid bearer token.
- `404`: The symbol, index or document does not exist. Not charged.
- `429`: Per-minute burst cap (`rate_limited`) or plan quota (`quota_exhausted`) reached.
- `502`: A data dependency was unavailable. Not charged.
- `503`: Authentication or quota service temporarily unavailable (`service_unavailable`). Not charged; retry after `Retry-After` seconds.
