# Stock master list

`GET /v1/reference/stocks`

## Request

Every listed Indian equity this API covers — about 7,500 companies including delisted ones — with identifiers, listing status and the four-level industry classification. Filter by `sector`, `industry` or `status`; ordered by symbol. Updated daily.

    - `symbol` string, required: Identifier to use in /v1/stocks/{symbol} paths: the NSE symbol, or the BSE scrip code for BSE-only companies.
    - `name` string, required: Company name.
    - `isin` string, nullable, required: ISIN of the equity share.
    - `nse_symbol` string, nullable, required: NSE trading symbol. null when the company is not listed on NSE.
    - `bse_code` string, nullable, required: BSE scrip code. null when the company is not listed on BSE.
    - `listed_on` string[], required: Exchanges the equity is (or was last) listed on.
    - `status` 'active' | 'delisted' | 'inactive', required: active = currently traded; delisted = delisted, merged or amalgamated; inactive = suspended or not currently traded.
    - `listing_date` string, nullable, required: Date the equity was first listed (YYYY-MM-DD), when known.
    - `macro_sector` string, nullable, required: Top level of the industry classification, e.g. Information Technology.
    - `sector` string, nullable, required: Second level of the industry classification.
    - `industry` string, nullable, required: Third level of the industry classification.
    - `basic_industry` string, nullable, required: Most granular level of the industry classification.
    - `face_value` number, nullable, required: Face value per share in INR.
    - `has_derivatives` boolean, required: true when stock futures and options trade on the company.
    - `website` string, nullable, required: Company website.

    - `as_of` string, date-time, required: When this response was assembled (UTC).
    - `route` string, required: operationId that served the request.
    - `count` integer, required: Items in this page.
    - `limit` integer, required: Page size applied.

    - `next_cursor` string, nullable, required: Pass as `cursor` to fetch the next page; null on the last page.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed or out-of-range parameter. Not charged.
- `401`: Missing or invalid bearer token.
- `404`: The requested resource does not exist. Not charged.
- `429`: Per-minute burst cap (`rate_limited`) or plan quota (`quota_exhausted`) reached.
- `500`: Unexpected server error. Not charged.
- `502`: A data dependency was unavailable. Not charged.
- `503`: Authentication or quota service temporarily unavailable (`service_unavailable`). Not charged; retry after `Retry-After` seconds.
