# Pre-Qualification Session

`POST /prequal/v1/session`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api-sandbox.tamara.co`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

This endpoint helps you to initiate a pre-qual session for your customers, so they can know exactly how much they can spend with Tamara.

## Request body

- object
  - `country_code` 'SA' | 'AE', required: The two-character ISO 3166-1 country code
  - `redirect_url` string, required: Post-flow return URL. Must be a valid HTTPS URL (scheme + host).
  - `is_webview` boolean, required: true for merchant webview; false for browser.
  - `locale` 'en_US' | 'ar_SA': Display language for the prequal UI (RFC 1766). Allowed: ar_SA, en_US. Same as Create Checkout Session.
  - `phone_number` string: Customer phone number. Same field name as checkout consumer.phone_number. Example: 966599050943.
  - `prequal_amount` object: Optional preset amount for the session.
    - `amount` number: Must be > 0. Max: 50,000 SAR; 20,000 AED
    - `currency` 'SAR' | 'AED': Must match the country currency

## Response `201`

Created

- object
  - `prequal_session_id` string, required: UUID of the created session.
  - `url` string, required: Customer UI URL. When locale is provided, it is included as a query parameter. phone_number is stored on the session and is not placed in the URL

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid JSON or body validation failure (including invalid locale)
- `401`: Missing, invalid, or non-merchant JWT
- `403`: Body merchant_id ≠ JWT merchant
- `422`: Preset amount is not valid
- `500`: Unexpected server error
