# Update a routing rule

`PATCH /v1/routing-rules/{id}`

Partial update; only provided keys are patched.

## Path parameters

## Request body

- RoutingRuleUpdateRequest: Partial update — only supplied keys are patched.

    - `type` string
  - `priority` integer
  - `is_active` boolean

## Response `200`

Routing rule updated.

  - `id` string, uuid, required
  - `name` string, required
  - `trigger_type` string, required: Trigger kind. Always `document_classified` for rules created via this API.
  - `conditions` object: Mirror of the internal `trigger_config`.
  - `action_type` string, required: Resolved action kind. Defaults to `route_to_schema` when not specified on the request body.
  - `actions` object: Action payload. May include a `type` key that drives `action_type`.
  - `priority` integer, required: Lower runs first. Default 100.
  - `is_active` boolean, required
  - `review_required` boolean, nullable
  - `source_connection_id` string, uuid, nullable
  - `created_at` string, date-time
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable
  - `links` object
    - `self` string

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is invalid.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: The requested resource was not found.
- `429`: Daily rate limit exceeded.
