# Create a new folder

`POST /workspaces/{workspaceId}/folders`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.tally.so`
- URL: `https://api.tally.so/workspaces/{workspaceId}/folders`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a folder in a workspace. Pass parentId to nest it inside another folder. Requires a Pro subscription.

## Path parameters

- `workspaceId` string, required

## Request body

  - `name` string, required: The name of the folder
  - `parentId` string: The ID of the parent folder to nest this folder under

## Response `201`

Folder created successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request body or maximum folder nesting depth exceeded

- `404`: Workspace or parent folder not found
