# Delete a message

`DELETE /v1/{appId}/conversations/{conversationId}/messages/{messageId}`

Deletes a single message from a specific conversation. This operation irrevocably deletes the message from both the TalkJS database, and in real-time from any connected clients.

If the deleted message contains an attachment, the attachment is also removed from storage.

When you delete a message, TalkJS sends a `message.deleted` webhook event.
