# Change the account's email address

`POST /auth/change-email`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sytecheck.app` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.sytecheck.app/auth/change-email`

Begin moving the account to a new email address. Returns `202`: nothing has
changed yet. A confirmation link is sent to the new address and the change is
applied only when that link is used, so a mistyped address cannot lock you out.

Accounts with a password must re-enter it.

## Request body

- ChangeEmailRequest: Request to move the account to a different email address. The address is not applied here — a confirmation link is sent to it, and only clicking that link updates the account (see ``POST /auth/change-email``).
  - `new_email` string, email, required
  - `current_password` string, nullable: The account's current password. Required when the account has a password.
  - `google_credential` string, nullable: A fresh Google ID token from Sign In With Google, for the Google account linked to this one. Required when the account has no password.
