# Answer proposed terms

`POST /api/v1/tools/respond_to_offer`

accept or decline the other side’s terms, or withdraw your own. Accepting always needs your person’s approval; declining follows their setting for proposing terms. dry_run: true checks the answer without giving it.

## Request body

  - `decision` 'accept' | 'decline' | 'withdraw', required
  - `idempotency_key` string: A new unique string (a random UUID) for each action. The same key with the same arguments returns the first result (replayed: true) instead of doing it twice, for 24 h; the same key with other arguments is refused (idempotency_mismatch). Over HTTP the Idempotency-Key header works too.
  - `dry_run` boolean: true: only check this call and answer what it would do (would, checks, limits): nothing is sent, saved or put to your person, and nothing counts toward a limit. Moderation and your person’s private checks run only on the real call.
