# An item’s text, as it was read out

`GET /workspaces/{id}/content/{itemId}/text`

## Request

Its current version’s, or one named. The chunks joined with nothing are the whole text; `starts` is where each begins in it, in characters as Postgres counts them (code points).

## Query parameters

- `version` string, uuid: A version. Absent: the current one.

Its text, in order.

  - `textChars` integer, nullable, required
  - `chunks` string[], required
  - `starts` integer[], required

## Other responses

- `401`: No token, or not a valid one: `unauthorized`.
- `404`: No such item, or no such version of it.
