# Update Chapter Memory

`POST /api/mcp/update_chapter_memory`

Edit saved continuity memory for a chapter/revision.

This is a manual correction path for bad extracted memory. It replaces
`carry_forward_facts` on the selected revision (latest by default). If
the edited revision is the latest revision, the chapter-level memory is
updated too so future prior-context ledgers stop carrying stale facts.

## Request body

- UpdateChapterMemoryInput
  - `job_id` string, required: The story job ID.
  - `chapter` integer, required: Chapter whose saved continuity memory should be edited.
  - `revision` integer, nullable: Optional revision to edit. None = latest.
  - `target` string, nullable: Optional edit target. Use 'active_revision' to edit a failed attempt snapshot.
  - `carry_forward_facts` string[]: Full replacement list of carry-forward facts for the selected chapter/revision.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- GenericToolResponse: Fallback for tools whose payload is still being tightened.
