# Analyze an expert report

`POST /reports/analyze`

## Request

Requires the `briefs` scope. Analyzes a document registered on the matter as
an expert report: its methodology, stated opinions, assumptions, data sources
and apparent vulnerabilities. `attack` (the default) reads the other side's
report; `mirror` red-teams your own draft before service. Runs as a job; poll
`GET /jobs/{id}` or listen for `report.completed`. The result is stored on the
matter as `case_context.target_report`, where every later brief on the matter
reads it, as in the app. Free. Native text only: a scanned report fails with
a message asking for a text copy. With a test key a fixed, labelled sample is
returned at once.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was malformed.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, unknown or revoked key.
- `403`: The key lacks the scope, the address is not on its allowlist, or API access is off for the account.
- `404`: Nothing with that id is visible to this key.
- `422`: This Idempotency-Key was already used with a different request.
- `429`: Too many requests, or too many jobs in flight.
