# Create a matter

`POST /matters`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.suprememind.ai/v1`
- URL: `https://api.suprememind.ai/v1/matters`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires the `briefs` scope. Send exactly one of `case_context` (the facts as
an object, in the shape the app stores) or `text` (a summary, stored as the
allegations and not run through extraction). Top-level keys of `case_context`
that begin with an underscore are reserved and dropped.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was malformed.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, unknown or revoked key.
- `403`: The key lacks the scope, the address is not on its allowlist, or API access is off for the account.
- `409`: A limit was reached, or a request with the same Idempotency-Key is still running.
- `413`: The body is too large to store.
- `422`: This Idempotency-Key was already used with a different request.
- `429`: Too many requests, or too many jobs in flight.
