# Export a brief as a Word document

`GET /briefs/{id}/export`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires the `read` scope. The finished brief as an editable .docx, built by
the same serializer as the app's "Download as Word": the four sections and,
where the brief carries one, the ruling prediction, the references under each, and the statement of what was checked and what was
not. A test key exports the labelled sample brief. A brief that has not
succeeded is a 409.

## Response `200`

The Word document.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was malformed.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, unknown or revoked key.
- `403`: The key lacks the scope, the address is not on its allowlist, or API access is off for the account.
- `404`: Nothing with that id is visible to this key.
- `409`: The brief has not succeeded (`brief_not_ready`).
- `429`: Too many requests, or too many jobs in flight.
