# Create a message

`POST /api/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.supovia.com`
- URL: `https://api.supovia.com/api/messages`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Appends a message to a conversation. `from` is `operator` for replies sent on behalf of your team and `customer` for messages on behalf of the visitor. Emits the `message.created` webhook event. Requires the `messages:write` scope.

## Request body

- object
  - `conversationId` string, required
  - `content` string, required
  - `from` 'operator' | 'customer', required
  - `replyToMessageId` string: Optional. The id of an earlier message of the same conversation this one answers, shown as a quote above the message (like a WhatsApp reply). Ignored when it does not name a message of this conversation. Every AI agent reply carries the id of the customer message it answered.
