# Create Entitlement

`POST /v2/entitlements`

Creates a new entitlement in the specified application. Requires entitlements:write scope.

## Request body

- object
  - `project_id` string, required — ID of the project to create the entitlement in
  - `application_id` string — a string to be decoded into a number
  - `identifier` string, required — Unique identifier string for the entitlement
  - `name` string — a string at most 255 character(s) long
  - `description` string
  - `products` string[] — List of product IDs that grant this entitlement
  - `metadata` object

## Response `200`

Success

  - `id` string, required — Unique identifier for the entitlement
  - `object` 'entitlement', required — Object type, always `entitlement`
  - `project_id` string, required — ID of the project this entitlement belongs to
  - `application_id` string, required — ID of the application that owns this entitlement
  - `identifier` string, required — Unique identifier string for the entitlement
  - `name` string, nullable, required — Display name of the entitlement, or null
  - `description` string, nullable, required — Description of the entitlement, or null
  - `products` string[], required — List of product IDs that grant this entitlement
  - `metadata` object, required
  - `created_at` string, required — ISO 8601 timestamp of when the entitlement was created
  - `updated_at` string, required — ISO 8601 timestamp of when the entitlement was last updated

## Other responses

- `400` — The request did not match the expected schema
- `401` — No API key was provided in the request
- `403` — The API key does not have permission to perform this action
- `404` — The requested resource was not found
- `409` — The resource already exists or conflicts with an existing resource
- `429` — Too many requests have been made in a short period
- `500` — An unexpected error occurred on the server
