# Convert text to memes

`POST /api/v1/meme/text`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.supermeme.ai`
- URL: `https://app.supermeme.ai/api/v1/meme/text`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Generates meme captions paired with blank template URLs, for rendering the text yourself or letting a human pick. Template URLs are public and do not expire.

  - `text` string, required: Text to convert to memes (max 2,500 characters)

Memes generated successfully

  - `memes` object[], required: Caption + template pairs; render the caption onto the template yourself
    - `caption` string, required: Generated caption for this template
    - `image` string, uri, required: Public URL of the blank meme template
  - `searchEmotion` string, required: Emotion/action detected in the input text
  - `originalText` string, required: The input text, echoed back
  - `generatedCaptions` string[], required: All generated captions
  - `languageCode` string, required: Detected language of the input text

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request — invalid or missing parameters (`type: validation_error`)
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key (`type: unauthorized`)
- `403`: The subscription does not include API access (`type: forbidden`)
- `429`: Monthly request quota exhausted (`type: quota_exceeded`). The `X-RateLimit-Reset` header says when the quota resets.
- `500`: Internal server error (`type: internal_error`)
