# Start or restore Try Chat

`POST /v1/chat/bootstrap`

## Request

Validates admission and, when needed, reCAPTCHA before minting the HttpOnly __session cookie.

Chat availability and session

  - `data` object: Short-lived chat session projection with quota and decrypted messages.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request. Query parameters are validated strictly: a parameter this document does not list is rejected, and `details[].keys` names it. A misspelled filter used to be dropped silently, which answered a question nobody asked with a plausible list of products.
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Not found
- `429`: Rate limited
