# Update a requirement

`PUT /api/requirements/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://demo.supercheck.dev`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Partially update a requirement. Requires `requirement:update`. When `tags` or `testIds` is present it replaces the whole set. Unknown body fields are rejected with 400.

## Request body

- RequirementUpdateRequest: Partial update. Omitted fields are preserved; `null` clears `description`, `externalId` and `externalUrl`.
  - `title` string
  - `description` string, nullable
  - `priority` 'low' | 'medium' | 'high', nullable
  - `tags` string[]: Tag names. Matched case-insensitively; missing tags are created. Duplicates (ignoring case) are collapsed. On update, replaces the whole tag set.
  - `externalId` string, nullable
  - `externalUrl` string, nullable: `http` or `https` URL. An empty string is treated as no URL.
  - `testIds` string[]: Tests to link. Must belong to the current project. On update, replaces the whole set of linked tests.
