# Update monitor status

`PATCH /api/monitors/{id}/status`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://demo.supercheck.dev`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Pause, resume, or otherwise set a monitor's status (for example `paused` or `maintenance`). Requires monitor manage or update permission. Automated status changes from checks are handled separately. Read current monitor status with `GET /api/monitors/{id}`; this route does not support GET.

- `400`: Invalid status value
- `401`: Authentication required or token invalid
