# Create an invoice payment

`POST /invoices/{invoice_id}/invoice_payments`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a payment or payout against the specified invoice.

## Path parameters

- `invoice_id` integer, required

## Query parameters

- `paymentAccountId` string

## Request body

- InvoicePayment: A payment that has been applied to an invoice
  - `id` integer: Payment ID
  - `paymentDate` string, date: Date the payment was made
  - `notes` string, nullable: Notes for the payment
  - `amountPaidIncTax` number, float, nullable: Payment amount inclusive of any taxes
  - `invoiceId` integer: The ID of the invoice this payment belongs to

## Response `200`

Invoice payment created.

- InvoicePayment: A payment that has been applied to an invoice
