# Update pipeline field

`POST /v1/pipelines/{pipelineKey}/fields/{fieldKey}`

Updates a field's name, default value, options, or AI settings.

## Request body

- PipelineFieldUpdate: Changes to a pipeline field.
  - `name` string, nullable: New field name.
  - `defaultValue` string, nullable: New default value or formula.
  - `dropdownSettings` object, nullable: Dropdown options in the requested order.
    - `items` PipelineFieldDropdownItemUpdate[], nullable: Options to keep or add. An empty list removes all options unless addOnly is true.
      - `key` string, nullable: Existing option key. Omit the key when adding an option.
      - `name` string, nullable: Nonempty option label.
  - `tagSettings` object, nullable: Tag options in the requested order.
    - `tags` PipelineFieldTagItemUpdate[], nullable: Tags to keep or add. An empty list removes all tags unless addOnly is true.
      - `key` string, nullable: Existing tag key. Omit the key when adding a tag.
      - `tag` string, nullable: Nonempty tag label.
  - `aiSettings` object, nullable: Changes to AI settings.
    - `prompt` string, nullable: AI prompt. An empty string clears it.
    - `source` 'BOX_TIMELINE' | 'WEB_CRAWLING', nullable: Content used for AI autofill.

    - `source` 'BOX_TIMELINE' | 'WEB_CRAWLING', required: Content used as context for AI autofill. BOX_TIMELINE uses the pipeline item's timeline; WEB_CRAWLING uses content found on the web.
