# Set the people, the property, your reference and the checks.

`PATCH /v1/transactions/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.stratumapis.com`

`parties`: each with your own `partyId`, a `role` (`tenant`, `landlord`, `guarantor`; `buyer`, `seller`, `payer`; `client`, `director`, `counterparty`; in an export shipment `buyer`, `consignee`, `endUser`, `intermediateConsignee`, `forwarder`, `supplier`), a `kind` (`individual` or `corporate`), a `name`, and for a company its `companyNumber`; optional `dob` (YYYY-MM-DD) and `nationality` (ISO alpha-2) sharpen a screen; an export party's `country` (ISO alpha-2) is compared with the listed addresses. `exportShipment` (an export shipment only): `destination`, `goods`, `licence`, `inTransitUK`. `property`: `postcode`, `addressLine1`. `reference`: `matterRef`, `notes`. `issuerName`: the firm named as issuer on the certificate of this job, for a platform running checks for its own customers (up to 200 characters; `null` goes back to your firm name). `selectedCheckKeys`: see the guide above; a check not sold on Stratum is refused by name (400 `not_offered`). Sending `parties` replaces the list. Free.

- `400`: Something in the request is wrong; `message` says what.
- `404`: No such transaction (or check) on your account.
