# Mcp Sse Handshake

`GET /v1/mcp/sse`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.storyflo.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.storyflo.com/v1/mcp/sse`
- Auth: none declared

Open a long-lived SSE channel for the MCP http+sse transport.

Per the 2024-11-05 spec the first frame is an ``event: endpoint``
pointing the client at the POST URL it should send JSON-RPC to.
The connection then stays open; ``POST /v1/mcp/messages`` enqueues
JSON-RPC responses onto this stream as ``event: message`` frames.

Anonymous handshake is allowed when ``MCP_ANON_DISCOVERY_ENABLED``
is on — the client still has to pass a bearer token before
``tools/call`` will dispatch, but the SSE channel itself can be
opened so discovery probes from MCP directories work without
OAuth.
