One commit: what it says, and every line it changed.

A MERGE is diffed against its first parent rather than shown empty. Our
history has real ones — an owner pulling their workspace from the mirror
makes one — and `git show` on a merge prints no patch at all, which reads on
a page as "this commit changed nothing".
