# Raw series by explicit id: worldbank/…, imf/…, dbnomics/…, or caribstat/… for Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and Central Bank of Barbados series. fred/… is recognised but always declines, because FRED is disabled.

`GET /v1/series`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://statcite.com`
- URL: `https://statcite.com/v1/series`
- Auth: none declared

## Query parameters

- `id` string, required
- `country` string
- `row` string
- `latest_only` boolean
- `start_year` integer
- `end_year` integer
- `transform` 'none' | 'yoy' | 'pct_change' | 'index'
- `strict_source` boolean

## Response `200`

Series with citation

- SeriesResult
  - `series_id` string
  - `name` string
  - `country` object
    - `iso3` string
    - `name` string
  - `unit` string
  - `frequency` string
  - `observations` object[]
    - `period` string
    - `value` number, nullable
    - `note` string
  - `citation` Citation: Every numeric payload carries one of these. Reproduce citation_text when presenting the number.
    - `source` string
    - `dataset` string
    - `series_id` string
    - `series_name` string
    - `source_url` string
    - `api_url` string
    - `license` string
    - `attribution` string
    - `retrieved_at` string
    - `citation_text` string
    - `notices` string[]
    - `export_formats` object: Ready-to-paste citation strings derived from this citation's own fields, so they can never disagree with citation_text.
      - `bibtex` string
      - `apa` string
  - `notes` string[]
  - `fallback_used` boolean: True when the primary source failed and a fallback source served this result, in which case the value may reflect a different statistical definition. The field is absent on primary-source responses.
  - `fallback_reason` 'transient' | 'definitive': Present only alongside fallback_used: 'transient' means a source ranked above the serving one failed temporarily and may serve a different value for the same query once recovered (verify_stat demotes such verifies to cannot_verify); 'definitive' means the primary permanently lacks this series/country (e.g. Taiwan in WDI), so the fallback is that combination's stable serving source and verifies are judged normally with disclosure. It is also set when the primary simply has no value for the requested period.
  - `limitations` object[]: Codes for what this figure is NOT, each read from a structured field of the result or from the indicator registry: projection (values in the source's estimate/projection period), fallback_source, stale_primary, modeled_estimate (a published model output), rounded_source (IMF DataMapper WEO values rounded to one decimal), computed_values (a StatCite transform), stale_latest (a latest_only value more than 3 years older than its retrieval year) and outturn_unconfirmed (IMF values before the projection boundary StatCite infers, which the IMF data StatCite reads does not mark as outturns or staff estimates). An empty list means none of these conditions was detected. It is not a warranty.
    - `code` 'projection' | 'fallback_source' | 'stale_primary' | 'modeled_estimate' | 'rounded_source' | 'computed_values' | 'stale_latest' | 'outturn_unconfirmed', required
    - `detail` string, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed, missing, unknown or repeated query parameter. The message names the parameter and lists what the route accepts.
- `405`: Method not supported on this endpoint. The Allow header lists what is.
- `422`: The request was well formed but cannot be answered, e.g. the source does not publish this series for this economy.
- `502`: An upstream statistical source could not be read. error.code is upstream_unavailable and the failure is usually transient, so retry.
