# Delete a customer

`DELETE /v1/customers/{customer}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.stripe.com`
- URL: `https://api.stripe.com/v1/customers/{customer}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - HTTP bearer

Permanently deletes a customer. It cannot be undone. Also immediately cancels any active subscriptions on the customer.

## Path parameters

- `customer` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful response.

- DeletedCustomer
  - `deleted` true, required: Always true for a deleted object
  - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the object.
  - `object` 'customer', required: String representing the object's type. Objects of the same type share the same value.
